What is Demuze?
A studio that isolates vocals from audio or video.
+
How do I sign in?
Use Continue with Google. The first sign-in creates a Free plan account.
+
Who can sign in?
Any Google account can sign in unless the operator set ALLOWED_EMAILS or ALLOWED_DOMAINS.
+
How do I isolate vocals?
Sign in and you land on Split. Pick Standard or Extra clean, then Leave the gaps, Trim leftover music, or Hum the leftover music, choose or drop a file or paste a YouTube link, and watch it on Jobs.
+
What is Standard vs Extra clean?
Both use the finer vocal model. Standard runs two passes. Extra clean runs more passes and costs twice the tokens.
+
What is Leave the gaps, Trim leftover music, and Hum the leftover music?
After the band is removed, instrumental stretches go quiet. Leave them, cut them, or hum a lead that follows the original tune. Trim on a video jumps the picture.
+
What do I get back if I upload a video?
The same video file, with the original picture and a vocals-only soundtrack, plus a vocals-only audio file.
+
How do I isolate vocals from a YouTube link?
On Split, choose YouTube, paste a watch or youtu.be link, then pick a Video or Audio format — each tab has a Suggested choice at the top. The job downloads that file and splits it like an upload. That path adds 50 tokens.
+
Why does a YouTube link say YouTube would not send this video?
YouTube sometimes refuses the look-up or the download. When YouTube connection is Off, Split and the job link How to set up a Tailscale exit node. You can also try again later, or download the file yourself and use File.
+
How do I send a YouTube link through my own connection?
Open Settings from the header chevron, follow How to set up a Tailscale exit node, or paste a proxy the server can reach. Save, then Check hop. Look-up and download use that hop. The rest of the site stays on the server address.
+
Where do I see progress and download the result?
Open Jobs from the header. On a small phone it stays as an icon. Split, Jobs, and the job page show the current step and percent, and Jobs also shows upload and download sizes. Player in the header opens the original or voice-only file. A YouTube job shows the watch link.
+
How do I play the original or voice-only file?
Player in the header opens a grid of audio and video. Video tiles show a still; audio tiles show the audio icon. Click a tile to play it. Each file opens Voice only when that file exists. Videos start playing when they load. On a phone the player is full width with the list under it. On a wider screen Previous and Next sit beside the player. When a file ends, the next one starts unless you turn off Play next, including in picture-in-picture. Vocals-only audio is still a download.
+
How do tokens and plans work?
Standard audio is 1 token per second, video is 2. Extra clean costs twice that. A YouTube job adds 50 tokens. Unused tokens do not roll over.
+
How do I upgrade or cancel a plan?
Sign in, click the Usage pie in the header, and choose Pro, Studio, or Unlimited. Cancel keeps the paid plan until the Stripe period ends, then Free.
+
Who can open Admin?
Google accounts listed in ADMIN_EMAILS see Admin in the header chevron after sign-in.
+
How do I make YouTube links work on the hosted site?
The hosted site uses a data-center address. People can use File on Split. An admin can add a YouTube cookies file. Overview shows whether that file is present and whether the extra check is up.
+
How do workers pick up jobs?
Each worker checks in through Postgres and claims the next queued job. You can run as many workers as you want.
+
Can I stop a job and get my tokens back?
Yes, before the job reaches 50%. Stop it on Jobs or the job page. Reserved tokens are returned, except the 50 YouTube tokens if that file is already on the server.
+
Can I resume a job that failed or was stopped?
Yes, if the original file is still on the server, or if it is a YouTube job that can download that format again. Resume it on Jobs or the job page. Tokens are reserved again when a worker starts.
+
How long are my files kept, and can I delete a job?
Each plan keeps 1 GB of your files by default. Delete a job on Jobs, or reclaim files on Cleanup without deleting the row.
+
How do I reclaim stored space?
Open Cleanup in the header. Select files yourself, use Auto select, or turn on auto reclaim for new uploads.
+
Where do I see what changed?
Open What's new from the header chevron. The spaceship on that row lights up, and the chevron turns amber, until you open the page.
